Counter pressure can make a huge difference
Counter pressure is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce the pain of a contraction. It can be a simple as applying some light pressure to the low back when a contraction starts and maintaining that pressure throughout the duration of the contraction.
I think the reason that this method of pain relief isn’t used more is because partners don’t understand how it is done or when you should do it. Once partners learn the details of this pain management technique they use it effectively.
